SB - David sits in Emma's office, and tells her he hopes that Katherine is someplace warm, and not out in the cold. Emma tells him that he should start worrying about himself a bit more given the current situation and brings up the phone records. Emma then tells him she's pretty good at spotting liars but that they usually have better material. She then sends him home to sleep due to a general lack of evidence. As he leaves she suggests that he might want to hire himself a lawyer. Meanwhile at Granny's diner, Ruby listens wistfully as August talks about his various travels and many adventures throughout the world. Ruby is obvously intriqued by such a nomadic lifestyle. All this time, Granny has been calling for Ruby and trying to get her attention, eventually rapping her knuckles on the counter to snap her to attention.
FT- A handsome young man is rapping on Red & Granny's cottage shutters, he tells her if she doesn't open up he'll 'huff & puff, etc' Ruby opens up to see her young man Peter standing there. they exchange some playful banter and then hushes him fearing that Granny will hear them. They fantasize about running away together leaving everything behind, but then Granny calls her she gives him a quick kiss and closes the shutters. Granny has opened the door to find that a hunting party has formed, out to kill the wolf. Ruby wants to join the hunt, but Granny forbids it. She then tells the men that they are fools, and closes the door in their face. Red & Granny argue and she accuses Red of just wanting to run around with Peter. She then orders Red to help her lock down the cottage and get to bed, keeping the cloak on as the color red repels the wolf. Granny sits up all night with a crossbow pointed at the front door.
SB - Ruby & Granny argue at the diner about Ruby taking on more responsibility, learning how to do the books, etc. The arguement escalates and Ruby quits the diner, storming out the front door.
FT- Morning finds Granny and Red checking to see what damage the wolf has done, and Red goes to check the chickens. She finds Snow cowering and hiding there, stealing a few eggs for her breakfast. Red tells her it's fine and they have a shy introduction, now lying about her real mane, first saying it's 'Frosty' and then settling on 'Mary'. They go to the well to fetch water and the well is positively filled with blood, and when they look behind them, the corpses of the hunting party litter the snowy field.
SB - Mary Margaret and Emma walk down the street discussing the 'situation' and Emma warns MM that people are 'talking' and they will suspect her in Katherine's disappearance. They get to the bus stop where Dr. Whale is chatting up Ruby, and being generally creepy. Emma tells him he better get going. Ruby tells them what happened at the diner, and MM invites Ruby to come and stay with them (to Emma's obvious dismay) while she figures things out.
FT - Town meeting about the wolf, and Granny tells them her story about her encounter with a similar wolf as a child. the wolf killed her father and brothers, scarred her arm but let her go. At home Snow and Red have a girl talk about Peter and love in general, with Mary encouraging Red to defy Granny to find love with Peter. Red then plots to kill the wolf, with Snow trying to talk her out of it but finally conceding to go along with her.
SB - Mary Margaret goes to the site of Katherine's disappearence and find's David wandering and extremely disoriented. He keeps saying that 'he's looking' over and over and wanders off again.
FT - Snow & Red track the wolf, looking for tracks.
SB - Henry combs the want ad's trying to help Ruby find a new job, but the phone won't stop ringing. Ruby answers it and does a fine job, causing Emma to offer her a job as her assitant. Mary Margaret comes in to tell Emma about David, while Ruby goes to the diner to pick up lunch and tells Granny all about her new job.
FT - Snow and Red track the wolf's pawprints to the cottage window where they turn human. They now believe Peter to be the wolf, and decide to tell him. When Red tells Peter they agree to chain him up that night so he can't hurt anyone, Red staying with him all night and every night from then on.
SB- Henry puts the book in Emma's desk drawer and explains to Emma that Ruby is Red Riding Hood, she simply doesn't remember how cool she really is. Ruby get's back to the station and suffers an attack of low self esteem, causing Emma to bring her along to look for David. Ruby uses her excellent senses to find him, but he has no idea how he got there, his last memory being leaving Emma the night before. Dr. Whale checks david out and says he's fine, Regina shows up since she's still listed as David's contact. She tells Emma none too kindly to go search for clues elsewhere. Emma asks Ruby to take her car and search the scene in the woods for anything she can find, and by the Toll Bridge she finds a small decorative box. She is then horrified to open it and find a human heart inside.
FT - Snow poses as Red until Granny discovers her and realizes that Red has run off with Peter. Mary explains that Peter is the wolf and Granny, visably shaken, explains that Peter is in real trouble. In the woods, Red turns into the wolf and eats a restrained and helpless Peter. Granny and Snow find Red, shoot her with a silver tipped arrow and throw the cloak over her. The cloak was bought from a wizard and keeps her from changing into the wolf. Red realizes she has eaten Peter, and Mary leads her to safety as the new hunting party approaches. Granny stays behind to face them down.
SB - Ruby shows Emma the box with the heart inside back at the station, and decides she's just not cut out for this line of work. She goes back to the diner and has a talk with Granny, who reveals that she only wanted Ruby to help more because she's leaving the diner to her when she retires. The hug and end the talk on a good note. Meanwhile at the Storybrooke Animal Shelter, Mary Margeret and David discuss the situation. Emma comes in and tell them both about the box with the heart inside, and they are understandable shaken. Emma then explains that there were fingerprints inside the box's lid, and they are a match for someone in the town..... Mary Margaret.
