Premiere Episode written by Eddy Kitsis & Adam Horowitz
Directed by Ralph Hemecker
The episode is Snow centric according to E.W but many feel the episode will have a more cast centric feel to it. Jennifer Morrison appears in almost every scene.
New characters: Mulan (Jamie Chung) , Aurora (Sarah Bolger) and Prince Phillip (Julian Morris) appear in the premiere.
We may see the “famous kiss” between Aurora and Philip (where he wakes her up), according to Julian Morris. Philip is a “noble and heroic warrior”. The character is also described as “a man who’s traveled from a kingdom that’s in decline. A young, skilled warrior and selfless hero who’s the veteran of many tough journeys”.
Aurora is described in the casting call as “born into a life of wealth and privilege, she was raised every bit the polished princess. But beneath the shiny veneer of a spoiled young girl beats the heart of a woman willing to sacrifice everything for love.”
Mulan is described as “a warrior first and foremost, she could hold her own against a swordsman or even a king. She is trained in weaponry, tracking and riding, but has a spirituality that enhances her tactical and strategic abilities. Like the flower she’s named for, Mulan is beautiful and may, to the uninformed, seem delicate; her roots, however, go deep — she has an intuitive connection to the land and to the creatures who inhabit it. She can “hear” the breathing of the earth or “see” a camouflaged animal. She is well-versed in the philosophies of her people and is able to see the larger picture. She has suffered past betrayals, so her trust is hard-won, but once she gives her oath of friendship her loyalty knows no boundaries. Similarly, when she falls in love, she falls hard — Mulan’s armor protects a fierce heart. “
