The magic of Jane Espenson's writing is back on our screens tonight as the latest episode of Once Upon A Time - "We Are Both" - debuts on the ABC network at 8/7 Central. Jane has been busy doing a marathon whirlwind of interviews and promotion for the episode but was kind enough to answer 5 questions mainly centred around tonight's episode and what we can expect.

We already know that we will get to see the first meeting between Rumple and Regina in flashbacks and sneak peeks have revealed that Emma and Snow are having a tough time of it in the post apocalyptic fairy tale world. We will also learn more about how exactly attempting to leave the town will affect characters in Storybrooke. But what else could we squeeze out of Jane? She was pretty tight lipped but read on to find out.

You have written the 2nd episode of season two, "We Are Both". What can you tell us about the episode?

This is an unusual episode in that it's possible that a clever viewer might be able to figure out something about the episode's theme from the title.

The episode title suggests that the characters may be coming to terms with the idea of dual identities. Is it going to be a tough road for some characters? Or does the episode title hint at something deeper?

Clearly, you're a clever viewer - yes, there are issues of dual identity addressed in the episode. And, yes, it's going to be a tough road for some, one that's not going to be immediately resolved.

We hear that Barbara Hershey is back as Cora. It must be quite exciting to write for someone like Barbara. What can you tell us about the part Cora will play in season two?

Cora is around for some episodes this season and you're going to learn more about her back story with Regina. But that's not going to be her only relevance.

Can you give us any teasers about other upcoming episode you have written?

I co-wrote episode six (the much discussed 'Tallahasee') with Christine Boylan. You're going to learn more about Emma. And her car.

How would you sum up season two of Once Upon A Time so far and the general tone the season is taking?

"Awesome!"
