August's Identity by Toireasa Alison

A lot of people have been speculating that August is Pinocchio... Personally, I don't see him as Pinocchio. I've suspected for quite some time that he is either Peter Pan or Rumple's son. Both make for good cases.

Peter Pan has the ability to move between worlds, flying between our world and Neverland, which could conceivably be a part of FTL. As the story goes, if Peter Pan ever spent too much time out of Neverland, he would grow up. If he happened to be out of FTL when the curse what enacted, he wouldn't be able to get back to FTL and would be stuck in our world, forced to grow up. It would also explain why he was able to enter Storybrooke, when no one else except Emma has been able to come or go. He's still a fairy tale character, and the curse effected ALL fairy tale characters, not just the ones who happened to be in FTL at the time. Maybe that also has an effect on why he knows the book is real.

But after the previews for "The Return", I'm leaning toward the theory that August is Rumple's son. It would explain why he knows about the dagger with Rumple's name on it... Baelfire was there when Rumple became the Dark One. It would also make sense of why he knows the book is real. It seems logical to me that since Rumple made the curse, he knew what the curse could do and would leave himself a few outs to break it: 1) himself remembering everything; 2) Emma being the savior; and 3) Baelfire escaping to help Emma in believing the curse is real.

Either way, I'm excited to find out more in "The Return" and "The Stranger".

I LOVE the theory of him being Peter Pan!!! I had not heard that one yet. The only problem with the theory of him being Rumple's son is that as Robert Carlyle has said, Rumple is several hundred years old. How could his son still be alive?

I've thought all along that he's Rumple's son. Should be interesting. :)

I find the same theory about your Neverland to be the same as my theory about Wonderland. Wonderland and Neverland are Alternate Dementions so the Curse would be uneffective there. It's the same with Rumple in a way, his cage was proof to ALL magick, so perhaps it was just luck that he remembers.
I love your character theorys, they seem very accurate.
Til the next episode, Oncers!

He can't be Peter Pan because they don't have the "rights" to use Peter Pan. they said they were desperately trying to get some rights so they could use him but so far nothing.

If Bae were also Peter Pan, that solves the age issue. Bae, in trying to help Rumple undo the curse gets tossed into another land (Neverland) where he hangs out as a kid never getting older (and becoming Peter Pan) until the curse is enacted in FTL. He leaves Neverland to grow up in our world and goes to find Storybrooke when Emma enters the town and starts to unravel the curse.

Hey, if Rumple can be Mr Gold and the Beast, then Baelfire can be August and Peter Pan.

He can say he went to another land where he stayed young for a long time and was known by a different name than Bae or the one he uses in SBL. They gonna sue ABC because us fans choose to use our imaginations?

I think that's bull because I've been in contact with the woman who heads the Great Ormand Street Children's Hospital ..the author of Peter Pan..JM Barrie left the rights to that hospital when he died. Meaning Disney is not in charge of Peter Pan. So many think Peter Pan is a Disney creation..he's not. I have talked to the woman in charge and she told me herself as long as one is not using anything of the play...the BOOK is public domain and therefore so is the name and basic story. If they used any of the book story and nothing that is in the play alone then they have EVERY RIGHT to Peter Pan and either were lied to or are lying to throw people off of something because it's certainly not true that one cannot use Peter Pan.

August isn't old enough to be age of Peterpan(14/15yrs old)+28yrs of the curse.
He can't be over 40 years old!!!
