Lana Parrilla: Magic's Back In Storybrooke!

Article from E-Online

Magic's back and judging from the smile on Regina's (Lana Parrilla) face as the purple smoke approached Storybrooke, the town's fairy-tale characters should be afraid...very afraid. Mwah-ha-ha-ha! (Don't mock. That's our best evil-queen laugh. And yes, it sounds like kittens yodeling.)

Once Upon a Time went pedal-to-the-metal in their intense, season-one finale, restoring all the fairy-tale characters' memories and magic. We caught up with the deliciously evil (on-screen!) Lana Parrilla at the Monte Carlo TV Festival, where she teased what's ahead...

Lana was as surprised as the rest of us when the curse was broken so early, saying, "It was a very bold choice, but a very successful one because now I feel like we can go anywhere in the next season. Now that the curse is broken we can really do anything."

But can they leave Storybrooke? Are they going back to Fairytale Land? And what about the angry fairy-tale mobs that have it out for Regina?

"What I foresee happening, is somehow Fairytale Land is going to surface in Storybrooke because you know it's buried underneath. But I could be totally wrong!" Lana speculates.

One thing she's certain of: Regina will have a lot of power next year, and won't be shy in using it. "Magic is everything to her and Rumplestiltskin (Robert Carlyle). I'm wondering if she'll use it to get Henry (Jared Gilmore) back."

Yeah, well, the fans might have other ideas. But Lana is dead set on Regina repairing her relationship with her (adopted) son Henry, despite the fact that, you know, she's the Evil Queen and all. (We all have hobbies!)

"I hope to see that Henry comes around somehow," Lana tells us. "I really think it's an important relationship not just for the audience but for these characters to resolve. Regina can't lose her son completely! However she finds a way, be it magic or honesty or just pure love, I hope she's able to get Henry back somehow."

I enjoy reading these. It's like the stars doing their own 'fan theories.' (I read somewhere that they often don't get scripts until a few days before shooting)

Regina loves Henry, like her own son. And I think, Henry cares for Regina as well, since Regina was the one who was his mom for 10 years. They have a special connection.

This is one of those things I want to be addressed in season 2 -- the relationship between Henry and Regina. I'm with Lana on this one :) Henry gives Regina some humanity -- otherwise she's pure villiany.
