Is Dr Whale Really A Giant Killer

Jack didn't do what's expected either. He traded that old cow for MAGIC BEANS!

 

In 'The Return', we saw a magic bean. In 'A Land Without Magic' , we saw the Golden Egg. Pretty big clues the Jack will make an apperance.


But then Comic-Con confirmed ; Jack is coming!

 

I think Jack has been hiding in plain sight all along. Using a thesaurus I broke down Dr.Whale - Doctor = To Fix and Whale = Giant/Large


IMO this adds up to Jack the Giant Killer. I wouldn't be surprised (though we nay never know) that his SB first name was John.

 

How they will spin it I'm unsure but here is my thoughts on Jack's FT personality : Thrill seeking trophy collector. Maybe even ladies man. Why else would he be so drawn to Ruby? Did he know what she was in FTL? Therefore his subconscious drew him to her in Storybrooke?


Furthermore what better place to put a selfish individual than as the resident Doctor? Forcing him to help others forever?

 

In the finale The Blue Fairy/Mother Superior is seen consoling Dr. Whale. It's highly doubtful she would console a 'bad' guy and gives a hint that she knew him in FTL.


Looking worried as his memory returns!

I think, Dr. Whale is a little bit old to be Jack. But who knows? XD

Anything is possible but what doesn't convince me, is that in storybrooke everyone has an occupation that more or less suits their original attitude... so why would Jack be a doctor?

Sorry I am on the skeptical side too. I think that it's more likely that Baelfire, if he's alive, will be Jack in the Jack and the Beanstalk story because of him being connected to the last magic bean.

It's funny before Comic Con I was trying to figure out who Dr. Whale could be and Jack came to mind.

I also wonder if he could be Peter Pan. Maybe Peter left Neverland for FTL and that's why he grew up? I know it's a stretch, but reading something today said that the creators have had plans for Captain Hook, etc on the shelf while they tried to get the rights. Maybe they were confident they'd get the rights?

I think Dr. Whale is Peter Pan. The ultimate curse for Peter Pan is to make him grow up. Remember how he played with Wendy's heart? And Tinkerbell's? Because he was a child. Obviously such behavior doesn't translate as innocently in adulthood. Having a Peter Pan complex in adulthood speaks to someone who refuses to grow up and be unselfish. What more so than being a "player" ? Remember the writer's take on Dr. Whale? "He can't be tied down." I think that's a reference to Peter Pan: "You'll never catch me and make me a Pan!"

After reading the journal entry about Dr. Whale in Once - The Untold Story, I think he is the Wizard of Oz. God complex, inflated sense of self, frames himself as a victor in all conflicts - isn't this what the Wizard did from behind the curtain?

and from last night.... Charming is not his prince he said... Charming doesn?t even know who Whale is.... LOL Whale has the power to rally up a mob in a short period of time... and didnt seem very afraid of Regina... :-\

Who do you think he may be???? I think he is Dr. Frankenstein... well first off his episode airs 10/28... its just so fitting.. and then their is the scene with the lightening hitting the tent.. sorta resembles a frankesteinesque scene.. and how fun would that be!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
